"A life-long process which begins within the family and encompasses every aspect of life."
At St. Ann Catholic Church, we believe that parents are the first and primary educators of their children in the faith. Our formal programs supplement and support that home-based faith development — nurturing disciples from early childhood through adulthood.
Formation for Every Age
Children's Ministry
Pre-K through 8th Grade
Our Religious Education program forms children in the Catholic faith through age-appropriate classes, preparing them for the sacraments and a lifetime of discipleship.
Baptismal certificates required for children receiving First Communion or Confirmation.
High School Ministry
Grades 9–12
Teenagers deepen their faith through engaging formation sessions, service opportunities, and community with peers as they prepare for Confirmation and adult life in the Church.
Young Adult Ministry
Ages 18–35
A welcoming community for young adults seeking to grow in faith through formation, service, and fellowship. All young adults are warmly invited to participate.
Adult Formation
All Parishioners
Ongoing formation for adults through Faith Matters sessions covering Catholic teachings, held Tuesday evenings at 7 PM and Thursday mornings at 10 AM.
Registration opens in July. Sessions begin in September. Contact the parish office or the Director of Religious Education to register your family.
Become a Catechist
A catechist is a parishioner who hands on the faith to others — most often by teaching a Religious Education class. It is one of the most direct ways to serve St. Ann, and our programs depend on parishioners who are willing to say yes.
Who Can Be a Catechist?
- A practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church, having received Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Communion
- At least 18 years of age — high school students are welcome to serve as classroom aides
- Willing to complete the parish's annual Safe Environment Training and the required background screening
- Able to commit to the program year, September through May
- Eager to grow in faith — no teaching background or theology degree is required
How to Become a Catechist

Reach out
Contact Mr. Antony Bishop, our Director of Religious Education, and let him know you are interested in serving.

Talk it through
Mr. Bishop will discuss the age groups that need catechists, your own gifts and interests, and the schedule that fits your family.

Complete training
Finish Safe Environment Training and the background screening before you begin in the classroom.

Receive your materials
Pick up your curriculum and meet the catechist team ahead of the September start.

Begin teaching
Step into the classroom with support alongside you — and hand on the faith you have received.
Materials Provided
You receive the curriculum, lesson plans, and classroom materials for your age group. You are never asked to build a course from scratch.
Training & Screening
Safe Environment Training is mandatory each year for all parish personnel and youth volunteers. The parish walks you through it and covers the background screening.
Ongoing Support
New catechists are paired with experienced ones, and the Director of Religious Education is available throughout the year for questions and encouragement.
